Planning for Emergencies
Emergencies happen. It can be a tornado, house fire, ice storm or flood. No one wants to think about accidents or disasters, but being prepared for an emergency can help protect your family. The whole point of emergency preparation is to do as much as possible before an emergency happens.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has prepared an educational booklet, “Planning for Emergencies: Three Steps to be Prepared – A Family Safety Guide”, to help you and your family be prepared in case of an emergency. These booklets are now available at Olivette City Hall, Olivette Community Center and Olivette Public Works buildings, and contain information on developing a family plan in case of emergency and an emergency kit checklist.
Additional information may be obtained by visiting the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services website at: http://www.dhss.mo.gov/Ready_in_3/
The Olivette Fire Department encourages all residents to review this information and share the information with friends, family and neighbors. Working together, we can be prepared and save lives.
