THE CITY OF OLIVETTE FIRE DEPARTMENT

From your Fire Chief

As Chief of the Olivette Fire Department for one year, I have had the opportunity to meet with many of Olivette's fine citizens.  I have been able to listen to their concerns, and answer many important questions.  I am often asked, "Why did you want to become a Firefighter?"  The answer is always the same. "To save lives, and protect the invaluable property of the citizens.  I have always understood the importance of helping people, and making a difference in their lives."  I have enjoyed being the Chief of the Olivette Fire Department for the past year.  Myself, along with the rest of the Fire Department personnel are looking forward to serving the City of Olivette for many years to come.

Thank you for your support of the Olivette Fire Department.

A Fireman's Prayer

When I am called to duty, God,

Whenever flames may rage;

Give me strength to save some life,

whatever be its age.

Help me embrace a little child

Before it is too late

Or save an older person

From the horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert

And hear the weakest shout,

And quickly and efficiently

To put the fire out.

I want to fill my calling

And to find the best in me

To guard my every neighbor

And protect his property.

And if, according to my fate,

I am to lose my life,

Please bless with your protecting hand

My children and my wife.
