Vial of Life
The Fire Department
provides a program called Vial of Life. What is it? A way of providing medical
personnel with an individual’s basic health record in the event of an emergency
in the home, by filling out a form with “Important Medical Information” and
placed in a plastic vial. The vial is placed in the top right side of the
refrigerator. The refrigerator is used because it is a common location for
insulin and other medications. “Vial of Life Location” sticker should be placed
on the refrigerator door to alert EMS personnel, call the business phone for
information or participate.
