On behalf of the men and women of the City of Olivette Police Department, welcome to our website.
The Olivette Police Department is proud of the quality of our service we provide our community. Members of our police department are hard working professionals dedicated to keeping Olivette a safe place to live and raise a family. We accomplish this with our firm commitment to the philosophy of community policing. This philosophy means we work together with the community in identifying and solving problems in order to improve the quality of life for our citizens.
The Olivette Police Department began in the early 1950s with two officers. Today, we now have a staff of twenty-three commissioned police officers, one police records clerk, and an animal control officer. We are a full service police department and provide the following services and programs: Patrol, Investigations, Traffic Unit, Community Policing, Personnel and Training, Records, and Animal Control Services.
The City of Olivette was presented the 2006 Outstanding Local Achievement Award for Intergovernmental Cooperation from the East West Gateway Council of Governments. This award is because of the partnership between the Olivette Police and Fire Departments with the East Central Dispatch Center whereby various municipalities coordinate to provide intergovernmental communication services to more efficiently serve everyone who lives, works or travels through the City of Olivette.
I am proud of the Olivette Police Department and all of its members. The demands on law enforcement today are greater than ever before. In 2007 we responded to 9,867 calls for service while proudly serving a culturally diverse community with population of 7,500.
Please take a few minutes and browse through our website and learn more about our department and the different programs and services we have to offer.
Sincerely,
Rick Knox
