Construction / Work Zone
Any area upon or around any street or highway which is visibly marked by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODot), City of Olivette, or by a contractor performing work for MODot or the City of Olivette, to include the Olivette Department of Public Works, as an area where construction, maintenance, or other work is temporarily occurring. The term "construction zone" or "work zone" also includes the lanes of the street or highway or roadway leading up to the area upon which an activity described in this subsection is being performed, beginning at the point where appropriate signs directing motor vehicles to merge from one lane into another lane are posted.
Center Turn Lane / Turn Bay
(a) Where left turn ‘bays’ have been provided, no motorist shall drive his/her vehicle within the turn ‘bay’ except to make a lawful left turn.(b) Where center-left-turn only lanes have been provided, no driver shall enter the center-turn-lane without immediately thereafter turning left. It shall be unlawful to use these lanes as through driving lanes.
Adequate control: To reasonably keep an animal under restraint so that the animal does not injure itself, any person, any other animal, or property.
(a) The animal is attached to a leash held by a person that is capable of and is in fact controlling the animal in question.
(b) The animal is within a vehicle from which the animal cannot escape while the vehicle is being driven, parked or stopped.
(c) The animal is secured indoors or in an enclosed yard, pen, or cage from which it cannot escape.
The term "non-valid alarm" shall mean the activation of an alarm system through mechanical or electronic failure or malfunction, or through an intentional negligent, or unintentional act.
(a) Charges. The first two (2) non-valid alarms, as defined in Section 40.720 hereof, from a security alarm system occurring during any calendar year shall not result in the imposition of a service charge. The third non-valid alarm from a security alarm system occurring during such calendar year shall result in a service charge of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) upon the person who owns or operates such security alarm system. Each non-valid alarm from a security alarm system occurring after the third non-valid alarm from such system and within twelve (12) months of such third non-valid alarm shall result in a service charge of fifty dollars ($50.00) upon the person who owns or operates such security alarm system
It shall be unlawful for the parent, guardian, or other adult person having the care and custody of a minor under the age of seventeen (17) years knowingly to permit (or to permit under such circumstances as by the exercise of reasonable care such parent, guardian or other adult person should have known of the whereabouts of such minor) such minor to loiter, idle, wander, stroll or play in or upon the public streets, highways, roads, alleys, parks, playgrounds, wharves, docks, or other public grounds, public places and public buildings, places of amusement and entertainment, vacant lots or other places, between the hours of 11:00 P. M. and 6:00 A. M. of the following day, official County time except on Fridays and Saturdays when the hours shall be 12:00 midnight to 6:00 A. M. of the following day, official County time; provided, however, that the provisions of this Section do not apply when the minor is accompanied by his or her parent, guardian, or other reputable adult person or persons having the care and custody of the minor or conducting lawful, supervised activities for minors of such age or where the minor is upon an emergency errand or lawful business directed by his or her parent, guardian or other reputable adult person having the care and custody of the minor or conducting lawful supervised activities for minors of such age. Each violation of the provisions of this Section shall constitute a separate offense
