Letter from the Chief

On behalf of the men and women of the City of Olivette Police Department, welcome to our website.

The Olivette Police Department is proud of the quality of the service we provide our community. Members of our Police Department are hard working professionals dedicated to keeping Olivette a safe place to live, work and raise a family. We accomplish this with our firm commitment to the philosophy of community policing. This philosophy means we work together with the community in identifying and solving problems in order to improve the quality of life for our citizens.

In 2010, the Olivette Police Department was certified through the Missouri Police Chiefs Association. At the time of its certification, the Department was only the 5th department in the entire state to achieve this recognition. In order to accomplish this goal, the Department had to meet approximately 200 standards. This certification is an ongoing process and the Department will be re-assessed every three years.

I am proud of the Olivette Police Department and all of its members. The demands on law enforcement today are greater than ever before. Each year, we respond to more than 10,000 police actions while proudly serving a culturally diverse community with a population of 7,737.

Please take a few minutes and browse through our website and learn more about our Department and the different programs and services we have to offer.

Richard Knox
Chief of Police
