In 2016 the City of Olivette applied for, and was awarded, a Surface Transportation Program (STP) grant to improve Dielman Road from Fairwinds south to Tamarack. In 2017, the City applied for, and was awarded, an STP grant to improve Dielman Road from Olive Blvd to Fairwinds. Both projects call for road improvements/resurfacing and sidewalk improvements. Existing sidewalks on the eastern side of Dielman will be replaced with new sidewalks and a tree lawn where possible. New sidewalks will be built on the western side of Dielman from Old Bonhomme Road to Tamarack.
While the project is being funded by two separate STP grants, the City is hoping that the entire roadway will be improved in one construction season.
Cochran Engineering was hired to engineer the project. Currently preliminary design has been completed. A public meeting for residents to review the preliminary plans will be held on February 20, 2018 at 7pm at the City Center. Representatives from Cochran Engineering will be on hand to answer questions and take comments.
